In the grand scheme of the Hollywood dating circuit, where will Selena Gomez and The Weeknd fall into place? When it comes to Bella Hadid, apparently in the realm of some serious heartbreak. Though Hadid has stayed quiet on the topic, despite an awkward run-in at this year's Met Gala where the new couple arrived arm-in-arm, it's now coming out that Hadid was unsurprisingly not thrilled about her ex-boyfriend dating the pop star. The source behind the intel? Her mom.
Yolanda Hadid, the mother of both Bella and Gigi Hadid, appeared on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday, in which she indulged Cohen in a variety of silly questions about her famous family. For starters: Yes, she's happy Gigi wasn't in Kendall's panned Pepsi commercial; Bella isn't dating Drake; Zayn Malik is fun. But Cohen, ever the sneaky Bravo czar, managed to get it one especially hot topic into his rapid-fire questions: "Does Bella care that The Weeknd is with Selena Gomez?"
"Not anymore, I think," Hadid responded. So as a translation: Yeah, Bella did care, as any teenager seeing their ex-boyfriend start to date a new girl is wont to do.
For what it's worth, the newish couple of seem to be going strong, considering all the airline miles they're racking up to see each other. And publicly, Gomez has sung the praises of her beau, whose real name Abel Tesfaye, many times, especially in regard to announcing their relationship so early on. “It’s really hard when I would want to spend so much time hiding things,” she explained [over the summer] (https://www.wmagazine.com/story/selena-gomez-the-weeknd-best-friend). “It’s too much pressure, and I think everyone gets over everything eventually. I just want to be happy. If that’s me just being myself, then I don’t really care.”
