Anne Hathaway Purchased a Connecticut Home for $2.8 Million
Anne Hathaway has just bought a home fit for the princess of Genovia …or an Oscar winner at least. The Les Misérables actress just purchased a sprawling five-bed, six-bath estate for $2.79 million, according to Trulia. The oceanside home is located in Westport, Connecticut, and spans 4,561 square feet. Built in 1920, the home has been fully renovated and includes an oversized kitchen with breakfast nook, a living room with French doors that open to an English garden, and a formal dining room with a stone fireplace. Wood-beamed ceilings, wainscoting, and pitched ceilings all add a bit of a rustic feel to the picturesque home. The master bedroom boasts a private redwood deck that overlooks the gardens. Outside, on just under an acre of land, there is a swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen with grill, and a 1,518-square-foot barn that can serve as an office or guest home.
Perhaps Hathaway is eyeing the school system in Connecticut for her one-year-old son, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, with husband Adam Shulman. She owns multiple homes in New York City, and one in the celebrity-dense Hollywood Hills neighborhood of California, but this idilic home is a bit closer to something you might see in a Nancy Meyers film—maybe the set of The Intern, which was heavily influenced by Meyers’s own Pinterest boards, inspired Hathaway to take the plunge. As for her career, Hathaway just wrapped production on the upcoming Ocean’s Eight film, which features an incredibly star-studded cast with the likes of Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Mindy Kaling, and Sandra Bullock.
