Ryan Murphy‘s multi-media multiverse continues to expand, whether that is via more seasons of American Horror Story on FX, or via new projects that stem from his multi-media Netflix deal.

This time, the latest surprise addition to the cadre of Murphy favorites is none other than January Jones. The actress revealed via Instagram that she will be joining the cast of The Politician, which drops on Netflix on September 27th.

The stacked cast already includes Ben Platt as Payton, a precocious student with big ambitions to be president of the United States, but finds himself running for class president at his Santa Barbara high school first, Zoey Deutch, Gwyneth Paltrow, Murphy staple Jessica Lange, Lucy Boynton, and Bob Balaban. Judith Light and Bette Midler will also appear as recurring guests, and Janet Mock is slated to direct at least one episode of the Netflix series.

As with the majority of the details on any Murphy project, the particulars of Jones’s role has been kept under wraps. She is listed as appearing in seven episodes, but it remains to be seen if her role falls under the Betty Draper umbrella, or is more of a comedic part, like her performance in The Last Man on Earth. In fact, it was not even confirmed that she would appear in the series at all until she showed up at the premiere party in West Hollywood on Tuesday night. According to Wikipedia and IMDb, joining Jones in an undisclosed role is Dylan McDermott, who also showed up at the same event celebrating The Politician last night.

The Politician won’t be Jones’s only Netflix show to watch out for, either. The actress is still attached to Spinning Out, an upcoming drama series about a budding professional ice skater named Kat played by Kaya Scodelario. Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir has joined the cast for that, along with Willow Shields from The Hunger Games.
