Karlie Kloss x Warby Parker
While celebrating her new collaboration with Warby Parker, a collection of three pairs of aviator-style sunglasses, Karlie Kloss revealed her secret to success: “no butter, no sugar, and sweetened with agave!” Just kidding, that’s the secret recipe for Karlie’s Kookies, which were served as the fourth and final course of the dinner she hosted on Monday night to celebrate the eyewear partnership at Greenwich Village flower shop Fleurs Bella. The model was drawn to the project, she said, because “it was an opportunity for me to get involved from the beginning of the process—thinking through every inch of the frames, the art direction, seeing how the team works and finally the campaign.”
It’s a partnership that has been in the works since a few years ago, when the 21-year-old model met Warby Parker founders Dave Gilboa and Neil Blumenthal at a charity basketball game. “I really admired how Warby Parker donates a pair of glasses for every pair they sell, the way my cookie company donates school lunches for every cookie we sell,” Kloss said. Appropriately, part of the proceeds of the Karlie x Warby sales go to Edible Schoolyard, a non profit organization devoted to bringing gardens and healthy food to public schools.
