New York Fashion Week may not have officially kicked off until today, but with a major fashion show (Tom Ford), more than a few blowout bashes (Tiffany & Co; Bulgari; Tom Ford, again), and plenty of street style peacocking, it's safe to say that festivities were well underway on Wednesday.
The biggest indicator? Kim Kardashian, 2017's patron saint of fashion week whether you like it or not, made not one but two major appearances despite the dreary, rainy New York City weather. After all, what's a little precipitation when you have a brand new hair color to show off? Yes, Kardashian is officially a blonde once again.
Kardashian going blonde is practically a fashion week trope at this point; in 2015, she debut a short shoulder-length bob in the hue, that many likened to Harry Potter's Draco Malfoy, and in 2016, showed up to husband Kanye West's Yeezy show-slash-listening party at Madison Square Garden in a long blonde wig.
It would seem this go-around is of the synthetic variety, as well. Around 6 p.m., Kardashian arrived at the Vivienne Westwood and Juergen Teller retrospective exhibition at the designer's store sporting a short blond style. The reality star palled around with fellow blonde Pamela Anderson and Teller, before disappearing into the night—she had another engagement to get to, of course. By 8 p.m., she had reemerged, this time all the way uptown for Tom Ford's Spring 2018 show, where she appeared in a latex dress and waist-length hair. Kardashians may have infinite Sugar Bear Hair gummies, but no amount of biotin in the world can cause six inches of hair to grow in 90 minutes. Wig it is.
Of course, Kardashian could dye her hair should she want to. On Wednesday, it was widely reported that Kardashian and West are expecting there third child by surrogate, as had been previously speculated. What's more, today, TMZ has announced that the newest Kardashian-West, due in January, will be a girl—and one with an infinite supply of blonde wigs, no doubt.
In other Kardashian-adjacent news, West will seemingly be bowing out of fashion week this time around, with no plans for Yeezy on the calendar, while Kendall Jenner made her first runway appearance at Tom Ford wear she debuted a very Kris Jenner-esque faux pixie cut. All caught up? And, again, we are only at day one.
