It's been 10 years since the Spice Girls did their last reunion tour. Since then, all five members have rarely performed or even appeared as a group. They've only reunited briefly during the 2012 Summer Olympics and for the premiere of the Spice Girls musical. But chances of the Spice Girls getting back together have, unfortunately, dwindled basically to zero—despite a deluge of nineties gems being resurrected and reunited and rebooted. Until, that is, the morning of Friday, February 2, 2018, when Victoria Beckham, née Posh Spice, Instagrammed a photo that changes absolutely everything.
The photo in question features not one, not two, but all five Spice Girls at Ginger Spice's home. Smiling (or, in the case of Posh, smizing) at the camera, Sporty Spice, Posh Spice, Baby Spice, Scary Spice, and Ginger Spice pose in a suspiciously girl-group-esque configuration—one seemingly designed just to fuel fan rumors of a reunion. The caption is even more telling. "Love my girls!!!" wrote Beckham in the caption. "So many kisses!!! X Exciting x #friendshipneverends #girlpower" And what, we ask, could be more exciting than a Spice Girls reunion? Exactly.
Now, the Spice Girls themselves have not made a peep beyond the Instagram post. According to The Sun, however, the girl group is reportedly getting back together. The newspaper reported that all five members have signed a deal granting them £10 million each for new projects that may consist of TV projects in China, a talent reality show, endorsement deals, and a greatest-hits album. The bad news is, there doesn't seem to be a tour or a performance on the horizon, and Beckham has reportedly only agreed on the condition that she doesn't have to sing. (Understandable, considering….) Still, any Spice Girls reunion is better than no Spice Girls reunion at all.
