Actress Zoey Deutch has been everywhere this year: she starred in the film Flower, was in Rebel in the Rye, and attended the Met Gala as a guest of Tory Burch. Most recently, she played Ed Sheeran's love interest in the singer-songwriter's new music video for the song "Perfect," off his album ÷ (pronounced "divide").
In the video, Sheeran, Deutch, and a few of their friends go on a ski trip. They play on the slopes, laugh at a chalet, and even do karaoke--all the while, Sheeran is secretly pining for Deutch. Eventually the pair escape to a picturesque cabin filled with pizza and cats where Sheeran finally shows off his singing chops to Deutch (earlier, he refused to perform karaoke). Then they dance in the snow.
According to JustJared, Sheeran himself wrote the script for the video, which was directed by Jason Koenig, who also directed Sheeran's video for "Shape of You."
The video mirrors real life for Sheeran, who currently dating Cherry Seaborn, a longtime friend whom he's known since high school. They live together, and he credits her with helping him stay sober.
Deutch, daughter of actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch, dated fellow actor Avan Jogia for four years, but they split at the end of 2016.
