In Dakota Fanning’s upcoming romance film, the sun shines for 24 hours a day. On Tuesday, to promote this dreamlike atmosphere, the star stepped out in a Mugler ensemble that exuded its own ray of light.

While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 32-year-old actor discussed The Sun Never Sets, a romantic drama set in Alaska during the summer months. As its title lays out, this is a time when the sky never goes dark, and Fanning’s outfit from the French brand was thematically radiant. The form-fitting silhouette featured thin straps and subtle princess seams down the front, with a built-in cone-shaped bra that added a touch of structure. Styled by Samantha McMillen, Fanning finished the look with glittery Aquazzura slingbacks and a dainty gold Cartier watch. Her platinum blonde hair further echoed the ensemble’s high-shine polish.

The actor is no stranger to this shade of light-wash lemon. She has worn it in a minidress iteration for her birthday, and embraced it as a suit set for previous press tours. But here, her favored color nods to the bright world in which The Sun Never Sets unfolds. In the upcoming movie—which hits theaters on September 4—Fanning stars as a 31-year-old woman named Wendy whose stable relationship is upended when her older boyfriend suggests they take time apart over the summer. Left freshly separated and surrounded by endless daylight, Wendy sets out to find what it is she truly wants. Antics, obviously, ensue.

“I absolutely loved it. I thought it was so neat,” she told Fallon of the around-the-clock sun she experienced while filming. “You would walk outside at 11:30 p.m., and there would be kids in a park on a playground with their parents. It looks a little dusky, but it doesn’t get that dark.” Similarly, Fanning—who is up for two Emmy nominations this year—shines perenially bright.
