Kaia Gerber & Cindy Crawford Bring Off-Duty Energy to NYFW

Kaia Gerber and Cindy Crawford kicked off New York Fashion Week channeling classic ’90s cool in the way only they can.
On Thursday, Crawford joined Gerber at a party on the Lower East Side celebrating her collection with denim brand Re/Done. Gerber—whose new collaboration draws from her personal style, vintage references, literature, and Americana codes—wore the hero piece of her collection, the aptly titled Kaia Jean. She paired the low-slung bottoms with a shrunken baby tee, striking a nostalgic It girl silhouette—belly ring and all. Her mom offered a different ’90s reference, opting for a slinky Celine satin dress, which she paired with the brand’s Faye leather jacket. In their sleek sunglasses and undone beachy waves, the pair were just as effortlessly in sync as ever.
As a supermodel mother-daughter duo, Gerber and Crawford have the unique pleasure of being at New York Fashion Week together. Between runway shows and exclusive afterparties, their supremely stacked schedules reliably overlap—even if just for a few hours.
Case in point: after supporting her daughter, Crawford headed to another event just a few blocks over—this time held in her honor. Net-A-Porter’s Incredible Women cocktail, at Straker’s in SoHo, celebrated the September issue of the brand’s Porter Magazine, which features Crawford as cover star. A-list attendees like Nara Smith, Serena Williams, Katie Holmes, and Emmy Rossum were in attendance, sipping spritzes and dancing in a room plastered with pages from the magazine. All in all, the event pulsed with a certain ’90s it factor. The same could be said about Crawford and Gerber’s outfits.
