Rihanna Exudes Island Ease With Her Kids in Barbados
Rihanna is back in Barbados—and this time, it’s a family affair. On Monday, the mogul and mom of three embarked on a particularly sentimental outing: visiting the home she grew up in with all her children in tow.
In front of the green stucco house, she posed with sons RZA (4) and Riot (3), as well as 10-month-old daughter—and former W cover star—Rocki. Once called Westbury New Road, the singer’s old neighborhood street has since been renamed in her honor. She took to Instagram to share photos from the visit. “One minute I feel like that kid from Westbury…the next minute I’m bringing my own kids back to ‘Rihanna Drive,’” she wrote in the caption.
Naturally, the family outing was a lesson in laid-back vacationwear. RZA and Riot wore colorful shorts and T-shirts, while baby Rocki was outfitted in a frilly gingham set with coordinating crimson barrettes. Despite looking after three kids, Rihanna looked typically fantastic in an asymmetrical black gown with a thigh-high slit and a one-shoulder silhouette. She finished the outfit with red lipstick, dark sunglasses, a thick gold choker, and flip-flops. Though her street style tends to veer into the maximalist and ultra-accessorized, her look for the full-circle moment felt fittingly pared back.
The 38-year-old star has been in her home country since earlier this month, when she traveled there with partner A$AP Rocky for the annual Crop Over Festival—a centuries-old celebration of the vibrant music, fashion, and food scene in Barbados. During the festivities, Rihanna was spotted in perhaps her most extravagant outfit yet: a custom feathered look by designer Lauren Austin. For this week’s nostalgic excursion, however, she leaned into monochromatic simplicity. What better way to end her heartfelt homecoming than by going back to the house that started it all?
