If you thought Ellen DeGeneres was going to celebrate her 60th birthday with a quiet night in, think again. Over the weekend, the talk-show host threw a birthday party at The Lot Studios in West Hollywood that was practically overflowing with famous people. For the big 6-0, DeGeneres surrounded herself with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lawrence, Dakota Johnson, Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and plenty of other A-listers. Several of these celebrities were very interesting, according to Entertainment Tonight, because they used to be in relationships with each other but were there with new love interests instead.
Particularly of note were Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex-husband Chris Martin, who consciously uncoupled four years ago and have had the distinction of being the most mature divorced people in Hollywood ever since. Paltrow was in attendance with her fiancé, Brad Falchuk, having announced their engagement on the cover of Goop, as one does, in January. Meanwhile, Martin was accompanied by his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, having been spotted visibly canoodling a couple times. Martin's other ex, Jennifer Lawrence, was there as well, accompanied by an unidentified but well-dressed mystery man. Lawrence wasn't the only one who had brought along an under-the-radar man friend. As ET reported, Drew Barrymore was there with an unidentified but well-dressed mystery man of her own. Rounding off the list of celebrities who were newly engaged and/or dating was Meghan Trainor, who was there with her fiancé, Spy Kids' Daryl Sabara.
As for the event itself, it looked like all these very famous, wealthy people certainly know how to party, at least according to the evidence on KimYe's Instagram. Happy 60th, Ellen!
