On Monday, Coco Rocha posted an Instagram of herself looking Paris Fashion Week-ready with a caption reading, "No one is as excited about red eye flights to Paris as @ioniconran," tagging her two-year-old daughter, Ioni James Conran, who was also pictured, matching her supermodel mom in black and sitting atop her suitcase.
Now, we know why Rocha, 29, and her two year-old were on the voyage: They were both set to appear on the catwalk in Paris, as became clear when they stepped out in matching dresses on Wednesday on the runway to close Jean Paul Gaultier.
Ioni is hardly the only model scion to take after her mom in taking on the runways as of late: Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford's 16-year-old daughter, has dominated the industry over the last few months, walking a seemingly endless number of shows and getting so close to Karl Lagerfeld they're now designing a collection together. The difference between Ioni and Gerber—not to mention other celeb spawn like the children of Kim Gordon, Lionel Richie, and Magic Johnson who've recently taken a stab at modeling—though, is of course that they're wildly apart in age, with Ioni beating them all out by well over a decade.
Rocha is currently pregnant with her third child with her husband, the muralist James Conran—something that Ioni actually announced, when she said "surprise, there's a baby in mommy's tummy!" in a video that Rocha posted in December. And while she's only about 13 weeks away from giving birth, Rocha's bump definitely wasn't visible in the voluminous, pale blue gown she wore at Gaultier, matching her daughter in elbow-high gloves and a hairstyle extending up into a gravity-defying curlicue, like a chic version of the The Grinch's Whos.
Of course, other children have taken turns on the runways as of late, too: Dolce & Gabbana's family affair of fall 2017 show began with two models holding toddlers in their arms, and quite a few other children after that, too. Ioni is, however, perhaps the youngest to walk who's already a star in her own right. She starred in a GAP campaign last May, and already has an Instagram account—monitored by "Mom & Dad," as her bio notes—with 62,000 followers, a number that'll no doubt climb now that she's made her runway debut. (Especially if she continues to be this cute.)
