Karlie Kloss’s Wedding Look Will Be Inspired by Meghan Markle

Many brides want to be princesses. Kloss just has a specific one in mind.

Many brides want to feel like royalty on their wedding day. For the supermodel Karlie Kloss, there’s one royal bride who stands out as wedding-day inspiration: the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. Kloss, who over the summer became engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Joshua Kushner, recently told Refinery29 that Markle “looked gorgeous on her wedding day,” adding, “I feel it’s a day that you want to just feel happy, beautiful, and not stressed. I think what makes someone most beautiful, especially on their wedding day, is when that glow comes from the inside.” Prince Harry’s bride definitely had a glow; Markle kept things simple and elegant with a tousled updo, natural-looking makeup that showed off her freckles, and, of course, a wide smile.

A runway regular since she was a teenager, Kloss will have no problem finding just the right look for her catwalk down the aisle. But she’s more interested in the reception than the ceremony, saying in the same interview, “I’m definitely somebody who opts for ‘less is more’ when it comes to beauty. I love a strong lip or a strong eye, but I would want to keep it more natural. For hair, an updo is pretty logical. Get it out the way, so you can dance and have a good time.”

Page Six notes that Kloss has also undergone an internal makeover, of sorts, in preparation for marriage: She converted to Judaism, just like first daughter Ivanka Trump did before marrying Joshua’s brother, Jared Kushner. But don’t expect Kloss to start stumping for the GOP anytime soon. “Josh and I share a lot of the same liberal values that guide our lives and the things we stand for,” she previously told Vogue.

With all the, let’s say, big personalities that could attend this wedding, a less-is-more attitude and a Markle-esque approach to in-law drama sound just about right. Mazel tov, Karlie. It means “congratulations,” but also “good luck”!
