Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott's first child, Stormi, isn't even one week old, but she's already a social media star. Five days after she was born, Stormi has broken an Instagram record. Her debut — a photo Jenner posted to her account, of Stormi's hand around Jenner's thumb — is now the most-liked Instagram photo to date with 14 million likes.
Not to discount Stormi's camera-loving genes — which clearly exist — but Instagram does have a pattern of favoriting baby announcements above all. Trailing behind Stormi's photo is Cristiano Ronaldo's recent announcement that he had welcomed his fourth child, which has since garnered 11.3 million likes. Beyoncé is also up there with 11.2 million likes for her iconic veiled photo revealing she was expecting twins Sir and Rumi, which she posted last February.
Stormi's photo also fares well when compared to the rest of Jenner's posts. It stacks up the closest to Jenner's first acknowledgement that she was expecting a child and had already given birth. “I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions. I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys,” she wrote. “My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how. There was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal I had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness.”
As for what Jenner's next moves will be, one report has suggested that "she is looking forward to being out and about more" and "ready to return to a more normal life." An earlier one suggested that she may pivot her career as well to be a "mommy blogger." "Yes, she will release a photo, and yes, she will acknowledge the baby," it correctly predicted. "She’s excited to continue to be her authentic self, and that will soon mean being a mother and sharing that with her fans.”
