Saint and Kanye West, prepare to be outnumbered. Kim Kardashian West, the only Kardashian-Jenner who has currently confirmed a pregnancy (via surrogate), has revealed the sex of her third child. She accidentally let it slip to Ellen DeGeneres this week that she'll be having another daughter, and that 4-year-old North has already started imposing her big sister tyranny on "Baby Sister's" things.
"My daughter thinks she's tricky," Kardashian West said on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "We had a baby shower over the weekend, and I thought, 'You know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want her to feel that something's coming and for her to really understand it.' So, people brought toys and gifts and she was opening them all up the next day, and she goes, 'Mom, since Baby Sister's not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room and play with them and make sure they're all okay for Baby Sister.'"
It wasn't until DeGeneres pointed out that Kardashian West had referred to the baby as "Baby Sister" that she realized she had just inadvertently revealed the sex of her baby — but the reality star was unfazed by her slip-up. "North is finally — she's really excited about that," Kardashian West continued, noting that getting North excited about little brother Saint was "a little trickier."
The KKW Beauty maven also shared that she and West have yet to decide on a name for their new addition. "At the baby shower, I was like, 'I don't wanna play any baby games — measuring the belly, none of that will work for this time around — I just want everyone to write a name on a little tile and see if there is something that sticks,'" she said. "We're freaking out, we have no name." But not for a lack of creative suggestions from North, according to Kardashian West. "She got a toy, and it's a llama, and she likes to name the toys," she said. "And I said, 'Okay, what do you want to name the llama?' and she said, 'Star! Star West.' So she names everything Star West." Unfortunately, North's mom is "not vibing on it."
Earlier this week, Kardashian West opened up about other things that make this pregnancy different from her previous two, which were complicated by conditions like placenta accreta and preeclampsia. "Anyone that says or thinks [surrogacy] is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control," she told Entertainment Tonight. "And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still — knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it's hard for me. So, it's definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area."
