The Weeknd and Katy Perry Reportedly Had Dinner Together in West Hollywood
The tangled web between Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, their exes, and their new flames is growing more confusing by the hour. Soon after Gomez and The Weeknd’s breakup last month, Gomez and Justin Bieber, who she dated off and on between 2010 and 2014, escalated from riding bikes and attending church together, to wearing each other clothes to smooching at Bieber’s weekly hockey game (because that’s a thing he does). In the meantime, The Weeknd — né Abel Tesfaye — also seemed to be reigniting old flames, when he was spotted sneaking out of Bella Hadid‘s apartment last week. But alas, Tesfaye was recently seen with a new wildly famous woman.
According to People, the “Can’t Feel My Face” singer was spotted at Madeo, an Italian restaurant in West Hollywood, with Katy Perry on Monday night, while Hadid was across the globe in Shanghai for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (at which Perry was slated to perform until her visa was reportedly denied). The musical duo reportedly arrived separately, but dined together. Tesfaye, 27, wore a black shirt, black pants, and black sneakers, and topped the monochromatic look with a gray hoodie and denim jacket. Perry, 33, covered up her knee-length dress with a camel-colored coat, nude pointy pumps, and huge gold hoop earrings.
It’s unclear whether the dinner date was of the romantic or professional variety, but it can’t hurt to wish for a Katy Perry/The Weeknd collab on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack.
After Hadid, 21, and The Weeknd, who dated for a year before breaking up in November 2016, hung out last week, multiple sources hinted that the pair were slowly rekindling their romance. “He is talking to Bella a lot and they’ve hung out, too,” a source close to Tesfaye told People. “They are not back together. There are still feelings, though. Abel never stopped loving Bella.” The insider added that although the trendy pair’s relationship is “very loving,” coordinating their busy schedules makes it “challenging.” “They might never get back together, but Abel seems happy to spend time with her again,” they said.
