Peter Som’s spring show blossomed with vibrant garden-rose prints and vivid blocks of color. But beyond all the bright blues, bold fuchsias, and punchy tangerines on the runway, something else demanded attention: the honey pink strands that lent an ethereal glint to the models’ hair. The tone is aptly described as “rose gold” by its creator, New York–based colorist and Wella Professionals color ambassador Aura Friedman. “A couple of seasons ago, the hair palette was pastel and cool,” Friedman says. “Now it’s about really warm rose and peachy blends, which are flattering to many skin tones and all shades of hair.” The fairylike hues are luxurious yet wearable. “All-over color looks very pretty,” she says. “But it can also be really beautiful to have just a subtle drop of it. It’s all in the placement.”
