The Best Fashion Trends of 2017, from Classic Suits and Pearls to Hot Pink and Exposed Lingerie

Though there still may be two more months left in the year, as soon as summer turns to fall, the race to the holidays comes all too quick. So there is no better time than the present to take a look at the biggest fashion trends to hit the red carpet—and beyond—in the last twelve months. 2017 was a bold year for fashion, with nary a shrinking violet in sight. Instead, we saw head-to-toe color in the form of monochromatic looks; fantastical feathered frocks; and plenty of glitter. For the more classically inclined, there were suits galore, a return to timeless pearls, and even some good old-fashioned denim. Wearing it all was a wide range of the year’s biggest names, from It girls like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, to up-and-coming style stars including Laura Harrier and Rowan Blanchard, and bonafide movie stars such as Charlize Theron and Cate Blanchett. Here, take a look back at all the major trends that have emerged over the last ten or so months—and should you feel inspired, rest assured you still have time to conquer them before the new year arrives.
